Flashback Friday: Letter to Dad

Happy Friday Joy Chasers!!! Today is Christmas Eve's Eve as my Dad would say.  I hope you are ready for Chrismas?  Christmas is a sentimental and nostalgic time of year.  I often hear people talking about their best Cristmas ever or what their childhood Christmases were like.  While this weeks Flashback is not about Christmas it is about a person who made sure it was never "the year of the bad Christmas" for me.  I am Flashing back to my post Letter to Dad.  I have found writing him letters to be helpful for me.  Have you ever written a letter to a loved one who has passed?  Did you find it helpful? Or, do you find the idea weird or errie?

If you are brand new to Chasing Joy and are unfamilar with Flashback Friday it is where we Flashback to our older blog posts and linkup here.  You can also post a link to your Flashback post on the Chasing Joy Facebook Page. Flashback Friday is a great way to rediscover our earlier work and discover some new blogs. So pick your link and add it below.  Use hashtags  #FBF or #FlashbackFriday on twitter to advertise your Flashback post.

Be sure to check out AT LEAST TWO other Flashback posts. Might I suggest the ones listed before and after your post. Please leave a comment saying why you selected your Flashback post and what you thought about the other Flashback posts. I'm looking forward to reading all of your Flashbacks.

Don't forget to grab the I am Chasing Joy button.

  1. Like you, Joy, I miss my Dad terribly. I revel in the good memories, however!

  2. Hey ladies...the memories are what hold us together. I have not lost my parents but I have lost my dear uncle and its hard to get past it but the memories keep me together.

  3. Good Morning everyone...This post is not so very old (just from last week) but it so funny I want to share over and over again. I think that it shows even in a time a stress you can find something to make you laugh so hard you cry.

  4. I didn't flash back very far, but here is the Blogger's Night Before Christmas.

  5. Hi everybody!
My post is from the summer. What if there's nothing?

  6. I flashed back to fairy tales and what we tell our kids. I look forward to reading everyone's flashback today

  7. Joy, just linked up! I think letter writing, whether we write to our loved ones that are still living or those who have passed away, is very catharthic. My father passed away a year and a half ago, and while I haven't written him a ltter, I have one sided conversations with him all the time!

  8. I still talk to my Great Grandma at night. I know she can't hear me, but it feels good to remember her.

I am linking up my favorite post I wrote this year. It is an interview with a Board Member of WOMMA (word of mouth marketing association). It is very special to me.

  9. Happy Christmas & all the best for the new year!

  10. Ack - I mistakenly pasted in the wrong url! (Still getting used to my new computer)

So... I'm gonna repost the one that I *meant* to put in there, which talks about how my ex-husband's first ex-wife (got that?) has become one of my dearest friends. :)
