Erika is a 2005 cum laude graduate of Howard University and has worked in the finance industry since that time.
Erika has served on the Board of Directors and held leadership positions in numerous organizations including Radnor ABC, Phi Sigma Pi, Alpha Tau Chapter Endowment Fund, Inc. (predecessor to the Tripod Foundation Inc.), the SEI Cares Board of Directors, Habitat for Humanity, SEI Cares, The Beautillion and Kappa League of Burlington-Camden Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and the DC Summer Youth Employment Program. She continues to volunteer with a number of organizations including Radnor ABC, Upper Merion Relay for Life, and serves as the Awards Banquet Chair for the Tripod Foundation Inc.

Unlike other models, Jese did not enter into the industry with big dreams or aspirations. She always loved the fashion industry, but focused mostly on academics. Her objective was to show that beauty comes in different shape, sizes and colors. Throughout her career, she was able to work for Essence magazine, Macy's, QVC, CJ Banks, Nordstroms and many more clients. After turning 30, she knew there was something greater planned for her life.
Jese founded LuxeGiving by luck! In winter 2011, she hosted several fundraising events at law firms and upscale apartment complexes within the Washington, DC metro areas to benefit Dress for Success DC. Over 700 suits were collected in result of her suiting campaign. After receiving an unbelievable response from the apartment residents, she realized there was a niche by combining community events and fundraiser activities.
She began researching the hardships non-for-profits faced with expanding monetary and item donorship. There are several contributing factors, such as lack of resources, limited staff, and brand awareness. LuxeGiving event guests love being involved and want to help make an impact. The average person just does not know where to begin. Potential donors become overwhelmed with finding an appropriate charity due to the baffling number of listed non-for-profit organizations listed in the United States.
She decided to turn LuxeGiving into a business in May 2012. Within the first year, LuxeGiving has successfully held events in the District of Columbia, Virginia, Maryland, Atlanta, Houston, Dallas and Philadelphia. She will continue focusing on the community one event at a time.
